Counseling & Discipline Seminar



Presented by Marie-Loree Allen, SPHR Director of Human Resources at Otsego County Chapter, NYSARC, Loree has worked in union & non-union environments, has experience in academic settings, non-profit & for profit organizations (national & international).  Loree has a Master of Arts in Personnel Admin/Industrial Relations from St Francis University & Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Robert Morris University.

We all have experienced it:  the moment when you realize your problem employee is going to need disciplinary action. The temptation may be to avoid confrontation because of a desire for workplace harmony, or to overreact out of frustration & anger. It's important not to ignore the issue: workplace discipline, when properly administered, helps your business avoid many common problems & benefits you in many ways. This three & one half hour seminar will provide you with the skills to professionally handle an intervention & help you curb problem behavior, uphold your workplace standards & avert bigger problems later. (HRCI Credits have been applied for)

  • Defining Progressive Discipline  & Common Errors of Supervisor/Manager

  • Standards that Administrative Law Judges Apply to Disciplinary Actions
  • Feeling Prepared and Confident When Addressing Performance and Behavior  Issues
  • Employee Tactics That Derail Your Intervention & How to Address Them Like A Professional
