$36M in grants awarded to boost the arts across New York State
The New York State Council on the Arts has awarded $36 million in grants to 1,242 nonprofit organizations. In all, 1,899 grants were dished out in 16 areas that represent a cross-section of artistic disciplines.

ALBANY — The New York State Council on the Arts has awarded $36 million in grants to 1,242 nonprofit organizations in the state.
The 1,899 grants are in 16 areas, representing a cross-section of artistic disciplines and goals for the funding, the council said.
They include support for organizations to present concerts, festivals, and other community programs: 467 grants to music, dance and theater organizations to produce and present public performances, and support for 37 organizations to help expand their operations.
About 1,400 additional grants will be administered by 29 partner organizations across the state.
